Pravin Togadia
Praveen Togadia is one of the most known Hindu activists of India. Praveen was the International Working President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP).
After the demise of Ashok Singhal, Praveen has become the most powerful person of VHP. Praveen is also credited to have taken VHP away from RSS.
It should be noted that VHP is an offshoot organization of RSS.
The grip of Togadia is now over. His candidate has lost election for the President of VHP.
This is a clear indication of his dwindling stature among Hindu nationalists.
Apart from being an activist of Hindu nationalism, Praveen Togadia is also a qualified cancer surgeon.
In fact, Praveen used to be regarded as a brilliant oncologist with deep interest in new avenues of cancer treatment.
It is a loss to the medical science when Togadia decided to become a Hindu activist.
Praveen Togadia was also once a close confidante of Narendra Modi. In fact, it is Togadia who ensured the post of CM for Modi in 2001.
After the infamous Gujarat riots, Togadia started to get away from Modi. Praveen was rather miffed by the strong action taken by Gujarat Police during the riots in which 254 Hindu rioters were killed by the police.
Togadia termed it insanity as never in the Indian history so many rioters were killed by the police and such a wide spread riot was contained only in three days.
Praveen Togadia was recently in news for being missed and later found unconscious in a park in Ahmedabad. Praveen attended a press conference and indirectly put blame on Modi for his predicament.
