Aakash Chopra audio speaker iconpronunciation ( help · word) (born 19 September 1977) is an Indian justice judge and former cricketer who played for the Indian justice platoon from late 2003 to late 2004.
International Career
Chopra made his Test debut in Ahmedabad against New Zealand in late 2003 as India sought to find an opening mate for his Delhi teammate Virender Sehwag.
Chopra's transnational career started well, scoring two half-centuries against New Zealand during2003/04 in the alternate Test in Mohali. On the 2003 – 04 stint to Australia, he featured in numerous solid hookups with Virender Sehwag, including two century opening hookups in Melbourne and Sydney. Chopra's work in seeing off the new ball saw him credited with the large scores that India accumulated in that series when middle- order batsmen Rahul Dravid,V.V.S. Laxman, Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly regularly collected large centuries.
On the posterior stint to Pakistan, he collected another century stand with Virender Sehwag as India posted further than 600 runs in the first innings to set up a heavy innings defeat ofarch-rivals Pakistan in the first Test in Multan. Still, in the alternate Test, the Indian batsmen failed in a losing trouble, piecemeal from a century from Yuvraj Singh, who played in place of the injured captain Sourav Ganguly. When Ganguly returned for the final Test, Chopra was removed and Yuvraj was retained.
Chopra was greeted as Sehwag's mate in the 2004 Border-Gavaskar Jewel after Tendulkar was injured for the First Test in Bangalore. Still, a heavy loss saw Chopra removed for the following match in Chennai upon Tendulkar's return, with Yuvraj elevated to opening the innings. Yuvraj also plodded, and Chopra was recalled for the Third Test in Nagpur. Still, a double failure by Chopra, as Australia won a series in India for the first time in 35 times, saw him dropped for the last time, after his career average gradationally dropped, still, from46.25 to only 23. Chopra was replaced by Delhi teammate Gautam Gambhir, and was overhauled by Gambhir and Wasim Jaffer in the race to mate Sehwag in the Test side. Due to his low scoring rate, he wasn't considered for One Day Internationals.
IPL
He played for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 1, IPL 2, but was transferred back to India as he was supposed unfit for T-20 matches played in IPL 2. In IPL 4 he'd been inked by Rajasthan Royals.
Domestic
In September 2008, Aakash played for Delhi in the Nissar Jewel against SNGPL ( winners of Quaid-i-Azam Jewel from Pakistan) and scored 4 and 197 for Delhi.
The match was drawn but SNGPL won the jewel on first-innings lead. After representing Delhi for a long time, Chopra joined Rajasthan as a guest player in Ranji Plate division. He helped Rajasthan to come the first Plate division platoon to win the Ranji Jewel followed by another Ranji jewel palm in 2010 – 2011 season. He has won three Ranji titles in total — bone with Delhi and two with Rajasthan. He is one of the many Indian cricketers who have scored over First- Class runs.
Media
His columns regularly appear inMid-Day and on Cricinfo. He's presently with Star Sports, Sony and Sony Espn as a justice judge and critic. He was also a judge for the 7 network with its content of the2018/19 Australia v India test series.
In 2009 Chopra released Beyond the Blues A First- Class Season Like No Other, a journal of Chopra's 2007 – 08 domestic season. It was published by Harper Collins. It was critically accredited and Suresh Menon of Cricinfo wrote that it was"the stylish book written by an Indian Test cricketer".
In November 2011, his alternate book was published by Harper Collins named Out of the Blue, about Rajasthan's palm in the Ranji Jewel. He went on to write two further books — The Insider with Espn Cricinfo in 2015 and Figures Do Taradiddle with Impact Index in 2017. Harper Collins has published all his work therefore far.
In May 2020, Aakash Chopra inked as a judge with popular mobile justice game World Cricket Championship to advance his voice for the forthcoming WCC3 game.
